The ATU provides delegates with valuable face-to-face learning opportunities with fellow health professionals. The focus of the ATU is to engage key practitioners from various fields to provide you with the latest clinical information and evidence on emerging therapies in a range of practice areas.

Chelsea Felkai

Chelsea is the President of the NSW Branch Committee of PSA and an active early career pharmacist still working in community pharmacy. She is the PSA representative on the Poisons Advisory Committee and has contributed towards many initiatives in NSW focused on medicines safety and harm minimisation. Member of the Newcastle and Hunter Valley Pharmacists Association, Chelsea currently teaches at the University of Newcastle while studying her PhD exploring pharmacist’s roles in the disability sector.


Prof Carol Pollock

In 2021 Professor Carol Pollock was awarded an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to medical research, education and science, to nephrology, clinical practice and governance. She was also recognised in 2021 by the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology with the Haiyan Wang Award to recognize individuals who have made substantial contributions to the clinical or translational science and development of nephrology service and education in the Asia Pacific Region.

Prof Peter Carroll

Professor Peter Carroll is Professor and Head of Pharmacology at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame Sydney, and an Honorary Professor in Pharmacology at the University of Sydney and the Northern Clinical School at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney. He is a Past President of NSW Branch of PSA. Peter was recently presented with Order of Australia in 2021 for significant service to pharmaceutical education, and to community health.

A/Prof Chris Freeman

Amongst other roles, Chris presently works as an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and as a Consultant Practice Pharmacist at Camp Hill Healthcare. In his role across state committees and as National President of PSA he has made significant contributions to the policy, advocacy and innovation at the organisation. Chris became the first Australian pharmacist to obtain specialisation in ambulatory care pharmacy under the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (USA) and in 2015 was a part of the initial cohort credentialed as Advanced Practice Pharmacists by the Australian Pharmacy Council. 

A/Prof Charlotte Hespe

Charlotte Hespe works part time in clinical General Practice in Inner City Glebe as a Principal of a 16 Dr Group Practice. She also works as Head of General Practice and Primary Care Research for University of Notre Dame, Australia, School of Medicine, Sydney. She is actively involved with the RACGP, GP Networks, Medical Education (through undergraduate, post graduate and Registrar student teaching) and GP research. Charlotte is current chair RACGP NSW/ACT Faculty Council and a Director on the RACGP Board. She is a past Chair and Director of GP Synergy and CESPHN.

Dr Vineeth George

Vin graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2011 and has worked across the Hunter region, Canberra, Sydney and Cairns. He recently completed a two-year dedicated fellowship in pleural intervention, thoracic ultrasound and clinical research with the Oxford Pleural Service and Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit and is a doctoral candidate with the University of Newcastle. His current research is focused on streamlining the care of patients with malignant pleural effusion but he retains an active interest in airways disease, complex ventilation and regional healthcare. 

Dr David Newby

Dr David Newby is Head of Pharmacy and Program Convenor in the School of Biomedical Science and Pharmacy at the University of Newcastle. David was a foundation academic in Australia's first entry-level Master of Pharmacy program, and has undertaken a secondment with the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Manila in 2016. He is also currently the Community Pharmacy appointee to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee. He is the author of the Australian textbook supporting evidence-based community pharmacy practice.

Dr Sarah Dineen-Griffin

Dr Sarah Dineen-Griffin has significant experience in clinical roles as a community, hospital and medicines review pharmacist. She is a Lecturer in Health Management and Leadership at Charles Sturt University in Australia. She completed her PhD in pharmacy practice in 2020 focusing on consumer self-care and the co-design, evaluation, and implementation of pharmacy services. She was recently appointed to the Expert Advisory Committee (the Committee) to lead the Review of the National Medicines Policy by Health Minister Greg Hunt (2021).

Dr Hester Wilson

A Fellow of Royal Australian College of GPs, Hester is also a Fellow of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Hester is the chair of the RACGP Special Interest Group in Addiction. She works for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service and in general practice in Newtown, Sydney. Hester is currently undertaking a PhD focused on GP's experience of patients with chronic pain and prescription opioid use disorder.

Kevin Ou

Kevin is a practising pharmacist and accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor with a diverse background in clinical education, policy development and program implementation, with a passion for translating science and data into meaningful and impactful products and services. He is the Manager, Training and Delivery at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. Kevin has a Graduate Certificate of Applied Pharmacy Practice and is currently undertaking his Masters of Clinical Pharmacy through Monash University.

Dr Archana Koirala

Dr Archana Koirala is a paediatrician and infectious diseases specialist. She works as an infectious diseases clinician and is part of the NSW Immunisation Specialist Service team and reviews children who have experienced adverse events following immunisation. Dr Koirala is involved in research in COVID-19 in children and vaccine preventable diseases prevention and management.

Margo Asimus

In 2004 Margo Asimus was one of the first Wound Management-Nurse Practitioners to be authorised to practice in Australia. During her career Margo has mentored other Nurse Practitioners, has been a national president of Wounds Australia and has practiced in advanced wound clinics throughout the hunter area.Her knowledge in wound management prepared her to become a co-editor of an advanced wound management text along with international guest speaker engagements.


Genevieve Adamo

Genevieve is a Pharmacist at the NSW Poisons Information Centre (NSW PIC).  Pharmacy Practice and is currently undertaking his Masters of Clinical Pharmacy through Monash University. Genevieve incorporates provision of poisoning advice, stakeholder engagement, management of the NSW PIC website and media requests along with development of factsheets for public education and submissions for regulatory consideration into her varied work day.
