Queensland Pharmacist Awards

Nominations have now closed.  Join us when we announce the winners at the PSA Queensland Awards Night at the Annual Therapeutic Update Conference.

All pharmacists are encouraged to reflect on the work of their friends and colleagues and consider nominating them for our Queensland Pharmacist Awards.

Do you know an ‘unsung pharmacy hero’? There are many pharmacists currently practicing in rural and remote locations who achieve exceptional success in their day-to-day activities. Likewise, many city-dwellers have been the welcome recipients of home medicines reviews which have made a real difference to the way they manage their medicines.

If you know a deserving pharmacist, submit your nomination.  There are many pharmacists whose dedicated work contributes to improve health outcomes for their patients and fosters outstanding collaboration and communication with all health professionals.

Nominations are now open for the Queensland Pharmacist of the Year, Intern Pharmacist of the Year, Early Career Pharmacist of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The Queensland Intern of the Year is judged on four criteria: leadership skills in pharmacy, commitment to patient care and medicines safety, initiative in pharmacy service delivery and professional engagement.

The Queensland Early Career Pharmacist of the Year Award is for those with less than 10 years’ experience as a practising pharmacist. The award is based on a significant achievement in an area of excellence within the year or a recent period.

The Queensland Pharmacist of the Year Award is for pharmacists that have made a significant contribution to the pharmacy profession within any of PSA’s 11 Action Items for Change.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is for pharmacists who have practised for 25 or more consecutive years and who have demonstrated significant and enduring contribution to the pharmacy profession.

The Early Career Pharmacist, Pharmacist and Lifetime Achievement Awards must address one of the following key areas:

• Pharmacy Practice Research

• Pharmacy Practice Innovation

• Pharmacy as a Community Service Advancing Pharmacy Practice

Nominations close on Friday 18 August 2023 and winners will be announced at the Queensland Annual Therapeutic Update Awards Evening on Saturday 23 September 2023.

Download the nomination form and submit to qld.branch@psa.org.au before the closing date. A nominee must be a current member of PSA to be eligible.
