For some time, travel health services have been available in Australian pharmacies, but how can we reignite interest and expand their reach? With increasing global travel and demand for accessible pre-travel health advice, pharmacists are well-placed to provide essential services. This session will explore practical strategies to enhance service uptake, integrate travel health seamlessly into pharmacy workflows, and build confidence in delivering high-quality travel health advice. Through real-world case examples, learn how to optimise consultations and ensure travellers receive the best possible care. Learning objectives - Identify common travel health risks and the role of pharmacists in preventative care. - Discuss strategies to increase patient engagement and awareness of travel health services. - Describe practical steps to streamline the integration of travel health services into pharmacy practice. - Recognise travel medicine considerations, including vaccination requirements and medicine advice. Vicky is also a pharmacy owner and a respected influencer in the industry, known for her ability to navigate complex health challenges and champion the evolving scope of pharmacy practice. She works closely with pharmacists to optimise patient care, enhance professional education, and promote full-scope practice, including preventative health services like vaccinations. Her vision is to ensure pharmacists lead the future of community healthcare—delivering exceptional outcomes, advocating for expanded clinical roles, and driving sustainable growth for the pharmacy sector through initiatives like pharmacist-led immunisation.
