Vaccination plays a crucial role in protecting individuals with heightened vulnerability to infectious diseases, including some immunocompromised individuals, people with disabilities, and First Nations communities. However, access barriers, eligibility considerations, and the need for tailored approaches can impact vaccine uptake in these groups. This session will explore best-practice vaccination strategies, addressing safety, access, and communication challenges. Learn how pharmacists can support equitable immunisation and provide personalised, evidence-based vaccination guidance for priority populations. Learning objectives - Identify vaccine recommendations and considerations for immunocompromised individuals, people with disabilities, and high-risk groups. - Discuss strategies to improve vaccine access and address barriers in priority populations. - Describe how pharmacists can support informed decision-making and personalised vaccine counselling.
