Details
Acne vulgaris affects more than 90% of Australian adolescents aged 16–18 years. While pharmacological therapies are the cornerstone of acne treatment, their effectiveness can be optimised when integrated with a tailored skincare routine. This session will explore strategies to synchronise topical pharmacological treatment with dermo-cosmetic products such as cleansers and moisturisers, demonstrating how this adjunctive approach can enhance treatment adherence, reduce side effects, and improve overall patient outcomes.
Learning objectives
- Identify key topical pharmacological therapies and their mechanisms in managing acne vulgaris.
- Evaluate how personalised skincare routines can complement pharmacotherapy to improve treatment outcomes.
- Discuss the role of dermocosmetics in minimising side effects and enhancing patient adherence.
