Details
Vaccination is essential at every stage of life, but not all groups receive equal protection. From infancy to older adulthood, specific populations—such as First Nations people, those with chronic conditions, pregnant women, and older adults—require targeted vaccine strategies to reduce disease burden. In this interactive workshop, participants will work through real-world case scenarios to prioritise vaccinations, determine appropriate schedules, and troubleshoot common challenges. Engage in problem-solving discussions and decision-making exercises to gain practical skills in identifying high-risk patients, tailoring vaccine recommendations, and overcoming barriers to immunisation.
Learning objectives
- Identify priority populations requiring targeted vaccination strategies across different life stages.
- Discuss key considerations in vaccine selection, timing, and catch-up schedules for at-risk groups.
- Identify methods to address barriers and improve vaccine uptake in priority groups.
