Maria Cooper is a community pharmacist and third-year PhD candidate at the University of South Australia. She completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy at UniSA in 2014 and her Master of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Queensland in 2021. Her PhD project focuses on investigating the mental wellbeing of Early Career Pharmacists, particularly those in community pharmacy, as well as the potential for peer support to be a stress-mitigating tool.

Fostering Rural Pharmacy Interns: Addressing Pharmacy Workforce Challenges in Rural Australia

Sonja is a Lecturer in Pharmacy at The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health (UONDRH) in Tamworth. She works collaboratively with pharmacy students and preceptors to enhance clinical placement experiences in rural and regional settings.
Sonja's role at the UONDRH includes being a Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer (RPLO) supporting local pharmacists by coordinating and facilitating continuing professional development opportunities and mentoring for intern pharmacists. Sonja is passionate about developing strategies to address the rural pharmacy workforce shortage
Sonja has worked as a clinical pharmacist in both community and hospital settings and is a credentialed pharmacist with the PSA.
