This session will explore the use of survey research to gain insights into three key areas: mental health first aid, gender pain bias, and community pharmacy services. By investigating these topics, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how survey research can inform and improve practices in these important areas. Biography

Dr Jacinta Johnson FANZCAP (Edu. Research) is a credentialled Advanced Practice Pharmacist, currently working across roles as Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at the University of South Australia and as Senior Pharmacist for Research within the SA Pharmacy. Dr Johnson has previous experience practicing as a specialist high dependency unit pharmacist, in medication safety and in clinical education at Flinders Medical Centre; and in primary care, as a community pharmacist. Dr Johnson’s clinical specialty is pain medicine, with her PhD and subsequent research focusing upon quality use of pain medicines and new treatments for migraine.

Biography

Tina Ung, BPharm (Hons I), is a Community Pharmacist, Associate Lecturer (Clinical Educator) and PhD Candidate at The University of Sydney School of Pharmacy. Tina is the grateful recipient of the Elizabeth Wunsch Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Mental Health and Pharmacy Services. Tina's thesis explores how we can partner with mental health stakeholders to develop and deliver pharmacy education in mental health via simulated patients. Tina looks forward to presenting her research at PSA24.

Australian Community Pharmacy Consumer Willingness to Pay for Cognitive Pharmacy Services and Time-Based Consultations.

Biography

Bernice is a community pharmacist and associate lecturer completing her PhD at the Queensland University of Technology. Her focus is community pharmacy practice, specifically remuneration of pharmacy services. Her research explores pharmacists' personal values' influence on charging patients directly for pharmacy services. She also investigates how much pharmacists are willing to charge consumers for pharmacy services and how much consumers would be willing to pay. Through her research, Bernice aims to improve our understanding of some of the factors that influence the provision and uptake of pharmacy services and provide an understanding of the value consumers put on these services.
