In this session we will explore the recent expansion of the Closing the Gap (CTG) PBS Co-payment measure and discuss other programs such as the Indigenous Dose Administration Aid (IDAA) program and the Indigenous Health Services Pharmacy Support Program (IHSHP) which aim to support quality use of medicines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We will also consider ways in which pharmacists can build respectful and collaborative relationships with their local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce to optimise both the uptake and cultural safety of these programs when delivered through pharmacy services. Learning objectives At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Outline recent changes to the Closing the Gap (CTG) PBS Co-payment program 2. Discuss programs and services which aim to support medicines access and quality use of medicines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians 3. Recognise the benefits of building professional relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners to optimise care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Victorian pharmacist with PhD (Pharmacist’s role in opioid management) and significant experience including (but not limited to) – GP Pharmacist (IPC Health), ACCHO Pharmacist (Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative), GP Pharmacist (Headspace), Community Pharmacist, Power Over Pain Interdisciplinary Pain Team, previous role as lecturer at La Trobe University
