Through roleplay, group work, and discussion, participants will have the opportunity to deep-dive into the concepts of WBA and how this approach contributes to developing high performing individuals. Participants will have hands-on experience through simulated scenarios on the use of authentic tools that are already in use for intern assessments2. The workshop will allow participants to learn from each other’s experiences and help them identify practical solutions applicable to their pharmacy workplaces.
Learning objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the rationale for workplace-based assessment to support training and assessment of pharmacy learners such as students, interns, and early career pharmacists.
2. Describe the concept of entrustment underpinning Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs).
3. Identify examples of EPAs that can be used to support pharmacy learners.
4. Describe how to conduct effective case-based discussions in pharmacy workplaces.
5. Identify strategies for providing quick and effective feedback to pharmacy learners.

Biography
Dr Lynn Cheong is the Director of Assessment at the Australian Pharmacy Council. She leads a team dedicated to providing valid, reliable, and fair assessments to ensure competence and readiness within the dynamic pharmacy profession. With a wealth of experience across multiple pharmacy sectors, including community, hospital, government, and academia, Lynn is recognised as a passionate pharmacist known for her expertise and commitment to advancing the pharmacy profession.

Biography
Dr Hayley Croft BPharm, GCert Diabetes, PhD (Pharmacy), AACP, MPS

Hayley began her pharmacy career in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, becoming a pharmacist and then accredited consultant pharmacist practicing in the primary health sector. She later undertook a postgraduate certificate in Diabetes Education and Management and a PhD in Pharmacy which has led to her developing role as a clinician scientist in multi-morbidity care with a focus on effective, and safe utilisation of pharmacotherapies for complex, chronic patients. She has been delivering clinical pharmacy services to patients living in the community since 2000 and has worked in pharmacy education and research since 2007. In 2019 Hayley developed and validated a competency-based assessment framework evaluation of pharmacist performance in everyday workplace practice. Her key areas of interest are in exploring innovative strategies in pharmacy education that ensure pharmacists are well prepared to meet evolving needs of practice, including within disability care. Hayley has published in international peer reviewed journals.

Biography
Mr Forrest is a community pharmacist, experienced preceptor and teacher at the University of South Australia. He has used the APC's Workplace-Based Assessment tools in a community pharmacy setting in the trial pilot and with now-graduated interns, and has provided APC and some ITPs with feedback and implementation advice.
John Wsol

Biography
Mr Wsol is a Lead Clinical Pharmacist, experienced preceptor and clinical educator at the North Canberra Hospital. He participated in the pilot and trialling of the APC’s Workplace-Based Assessment tools in 2021. Stemming from the initial work with the APC, he has developed and implemented a range of additional Entrustable Professional Activities for pharmacists undertaking supervised practice within the hospital setting.
