In the realm of migraine management, the challenge of navigating through preventive medicine shortages adds an additional layer of complexity for both patients and healthcare providers. Innovative approaches to treatment are needed, including optimisation, lifestyle modifications, non-pharmacological and alternative interventions. We will discuss the latest research findings, emerging treatments and provide valuable, expert perspectives on how to best tailor treatment plans to individual patient needs during times of preventive medicine shortages.
We’ll also discuss the importance of patient education and collaboration in self-management strategies, empowering patients to take an active role in their migraine care despite medication shortages.
This session will provide practical strategies and insights for managing migraines effectively when faced with stock shortages of preventive medicines.

Biography
Dr. Jason Ray MBBS FRACP
Dr. Ray is an academic neurologist and headache sub-specialist working at the Alfred and Austin Hospitals, Melbourne. He is the deputy lead of the headache service at Alfred Health and an early career researcher at Monash University, with over twenty peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters and is engaged in both commercial and investigator-initiated drug trials. He has a passion for the education of health professionals in headache medicine, and has helped prepare the PSA migraine CPD, as well as regular lectures for medical students and doctors in training.
