Details

Pharmacy regulation can feel complex, but what really happens behind the scenes when regulators collaborate? This panel brings together representatives from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, Ahpra, the Pharmacy Board of Australia, the Pharmacy Council of NSW, and the Pharmaceutical Services Federal Committee of Inquiry for a candid discussion on how pharmacy regulation works in practice. The panel will explore how information is shared between regulatory bodies, the laws that govern this process, and what these interactions mean for pharmacists on the ground. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the systems that underpin professional accountability, safety and public trust as well as the opportunity to ask questions to our key industry representatives. Learning objectives: • Identify the roles and responsibilities of the key regulatory bodies involved in pharmacy practice. • Discuss how information is shared between regulators and the legal frameworks that guide this process. • Describe how inter-agency collaboration influences pharmacist regulation and public safety. Competency Standards (2016): 1.6, 3.3, 4.2
