Nearly three million Australians live with eczema; but it doesn’t look, feel, or respond the same for everyone. From infants to older adults, and across different skin tones and cultural backgrounds, eczema presents unique diagnostic and management challenges that can easily be missed.
This session dives into diverse and personalised eczema management through the lens of Australia’s population. You’ll explore how presentation, pigmentation and perception of eczema differ across skin types, and what this means for counselling, product selection and follow-up.
Learning objectives:
• Identify how eczema presents across different skin tones, age groups and population groups.
• Discuss evidence-based approaches to managing eczema, including prescription and non-prescription options tailored to diverse patient needs.
• Recognise how cultural perceptions, access barriers and communication styles influence adherence and treatment outcomes.
