Biography
Hi, I'm Liam and I am a consultant pharmacist living on Phillip Island. My early years as a pharmacist were a little unconventional - getting registered then doing a Graduate Diploma of Education, locuming to save funds for a year in Mexico and Central America surfing and learning Spanish, then returning to Australia to spend my winters working as a pharmacist at Perisher in the NSW snowfields and my summers travelling around in a VW campervan and locuming at pharmacies all over Australia. I documented these adventures under the guide The Roaming Pharmacist.
At the end of 2019 I set off to Chile with a working holiday visa, a one-way ticket and loose plans of an extended South American odyssey. Those plans lasted all of 3 months before COVID-19 shut the world down and brought me back to Australia. With adventures on hiatus, I threw myself into furthering my pharmacy and associated studies. As well as becoming HMR credentialed, I became an ASLM certified Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, studied Oxygen Advantage and Breathless breathwork instructor trainings and dabbled in some nutrition and gut health short courses.
For a while there, my now wife and I were running a Yoga and Breathwork studio on Phillip Island, and subsequently ran a range of events on our Island. I started running some breathwork sessions in the community. These ranged from mindfulness and relaxation sessions to Breathwork for Surfers, where we focused on techniques to get fitter and more comfortable in the waves. Through this journey I curated the course 'Our Breath as a Drug', which fuses my experiences as a Breathwork Facilitator and Pharmacist to explore the various applications breathwork can have. Thanks to the PSA, I'm looking forward to sharing a workshop version of Our Breath as a Drug at CPC in 2026. This workshop is aimed to be accessible for everyone.
