Gain unique insights into how GPs generate HMR and RMMR referrals using software tools widely utilised in GP clinics and ACCHOs nationwide. Learn about cutting-edge AI note-taking tools, examining their practical applications in the GP Pharmacist and HMR/RMMR landscape.

Facilitated by experienced GP Pharmacists Brooke Shelly FPS, Yvette McGrath MPS, and Brooke Snow MPS, this workshop provides a unique blend of hands-on learning, collaborative discussions with a Q&A panel session, and actionable insights to advance your role in primary care.

Learning objectives: 1. Define the scope of the GP Pharmacist role, including typical activities performed and software tools used. 2. Identify the MBS items relevant to GP Pharmacists and the associated billing opportunities. 3. Describe non-billable but impactful activities GP Pharmacists can undertake. 4. Biography

Yvette is a credentialled pharmacist from Far North Queensland who enjoys a variety of B.Pharm career paths. She is currently providing HMRs in a 2 hour radius from her home, working in ACCHO clinics and Aged care homes with a bit of tutoring and mentoring JCU pharmacy students and pharmacist education opportunities in the mix.

Biography

Brooke Shelly is a rural Victorian pharmacist with a dynamic portfolio career, encompassing roles as a General Practice Pharmacist, Credentialed Pharmacist, and Senior Clinical Pharmacist within a telehealth multidisciplinary team. She was one of the first GP Pharmacists in Victoria and has been working in this space since 2019. In 2024, she was honored as the PSA Consultant Pharmacist of the Year and elevated to Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. Brooke contributes as a pharmacist lead for her local PHN and serves on the Murray PHN Clinical Advisory Board. She is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer for the La Trobe Rural Health School and a member of the Monash Rural Health School Community Advisory Council. A passionate advocate for the diversification of the pharmacist’s role, Brooke champions innovative models of care, particularly those that enhance primary healthcare delivery for rural and regional Australians.

Biography

Brooke holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from James Cook University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Queensland. Currently, Brooke works as a Pharmacist in General Practice at the Atherton Health Hub, where she is dedicated to enhancing primary health care through multidisciplinary collaboration. In addition, Brooke works as a Project Manager for the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, overseeing a pilot project focused on integrating pharmacists into General Practice in Townsville, QLD.
