Pharmacists play a key role in supporting aged care facilities to meet medicine safety standards and uphold best practice governance. This session explores practical strategies to strengthen medicine management systems, identify and mitigate risks, and improve compliance with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards. Attendees will gain insights into implementing effective governance frameworks that reduce medicine errors and promote safer, high-quality care.

Biography
Dr Amanda Cross is a practising pharmacist and postdoctoral research fellow. Dr Cross’s research focuses on quality use of medicine, particularly evaluating innovative roles for pharmacists to support safe and effective use of medicines. Dr Amanda Cross has worked in community pharmacy and as a consultant pharmacist and is currently investigating the roles of on-site aged care pharmacists.
